Veronica Sofia Burt (she/her) is a Los Angeles born and LA/NYC based interdisciplinary artist who places somatics at the center of storytelling.

THEATER/DANCE

Veronica’s theater credits include Center Theatre Group, New York Theatre Workshop, The Metropolitan Opera, The Muny, Pasadena Playhouse, Chicago Lyric Opera, Washington National Opera, Shakespeare Theatre Company, IAMA Theatre Company, Northern Stage, Joe’s Pub, Bridge Production Group and more.

She has been Associate/Assistant Director for Rachel Chavkin, Sam Pinkleton, Steph Paul, Maggie Burrows, Arpita Mukherjee, Associate Choreographer for Ani Taj, and has assisted playwrights Liliana Padilla, Alexis Scheer, and songwriter Abigail Barlow.

Veronica is currently developing the dance opera INTERIOR with composer Shaye Swanson, which has received a BOLD Ventures Grant from the Helen Gurley Brown Foundation.

FILM/COMMERCIALS

Veronica’s practice of creating rigorous, daring and sustainable work has led to intimacy coordinating for university film programs, numerous vertical series and award-winning short films. She is currently a 2024 Women in Film (WIF) Intimacy Coordinator Fellow.

Veronica has worked in production on music videos and commercials for clients such as The Weeknd, Barlow&Bear, Beats, BMW, Facebook, Ford, Honda, Jack in the Box, JC Penny, MLB, NFL, Nike, Peleton, State Farm, Taco Bell, Target, Theragun, VICE, Wendy’s and more.

TEACHING

Veronica has intimacy choreographed, guest lectured, taught dance, and hosted workshops at universities (Williams College, Dartmouth College, UCLA Law School, USC School of Cinematic Arts, New York Film Academy, Georgetown University), non-profits (United in Harmony, Education for the Children Foundation), and at Los Angeles, Chicago, New York and New Orleans public schools.

Veronica Sofia Burt holds a BA in Theater and English from Dartmouth College, having trained with London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, University North Carolina School of the Arts, and Alonzo King’s LINES Ballet.
